In 2006, we have seen the addition of Daniel Craig to the James Bond family in Casino Royale. With this toon, we imagine a legendary meeting of the 6 stars who have portrayed the immortal Bond. Sean Connery Dr. No (1962) Fun escapist fare with Bond investigating mysterious occurrences in Jamaica. No one inhabits a swimsuit like Ursula Andress. 7/10 From Russia With Love (1963) Trickier espionage thread, great mano-a-mano fight on traveling train & suspenseful copter chase. 8/10 Goldfinger (1964) Arguably the quintessential Bond flick with megalomaniac villain, the Aston Martin, clever gadgets and the famous Pussy Galore. 9/10 Thunderball (1965) Sharks, harpoon guns, world domination plot and luscious Caribbean setting. 7/10 You Only Live Twice (1967) Bond goes to Japan, takes a bride, integrates the villain's volcanic lair and prevents WW3. 6/10 Diamonds Are Forever (1971) Arch-villain Blofeld's petroleum rig headquarters, diamonds in space & ooh-la-la Jill St. John. A fun action adventure yarn. 8/10 Never Say Never Again (1983) A welcome return for Connery as Bond in this remake of Thunderball. 8/10 |

Roger Moore Live And Let Die (1973) Wild boat chase, snappy alligators, Voodoo in Haiti, explosive air capsules and...lady luck Jane Seymour. 6/10 The Man With The Golden Gun (1974) Bond goes after world-renowned assassin; gets funhouse mirrors, beach gun duel and Britt Ekland in a swimsuit. 6/10 The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) Ski chase, submarine depot shootout, sharks, a thug named Jaws and the arch-villain's underwater headquarters. Arguably Moore's best outing as Bond. 7/10 Moonraker (1979) Bond thwarts megalomaniac's plans for civilization in outer space. Silliness is up a notch but still plenty of fun. 7/10 For Your Eyes Only (1981) Bond seeks military code-buster, trotting from the Mediterranean to the Swiss Alps. Back to Fleming-style espionage suspenser with the obligatory dose of action movie silliness. 7/10 Octopussy (1983) Bond prevents nuclear device from being detonated by crazy Russian general. Or something like that. Action sequences save the day. 6/10 A View To A Kill (1985) Bottom of the barrel for the series. Opening ski chase/machine gun shootout to the sounds of the Beach Boys is the movie's best segment. 4/10 |
|
